Mr Jaffer was selected to travel with President Barack Obama to India,November 2010;along with the White House entourage from Andrews Air Base.
Jaffer was also the first Indian American to accompany President William Jefferson Clinton on the historic visit to India in March 2000.
As a member of the White House media entourage, Jaffer had an access to the President not available to any other Indian photographer.Jaffer photographed the President in some of the most picturesque and historic locations on Earth, capturing not only private pensive
moments but also the spectacular public ones. A year later, these images were shown to the public in a roundly acclaimed exhibition in
New York ‘s Regent Hotel at Wall Street which was also inaugurated by President Clinton himself. A photograph of President Clinton addressing
a meeting at the Sabarmati Ashram, Gujarat India; hangs in the Presidential Library.
Jaffer has been Awarded ,The New York City Citation. In 2007 he was awarded, Proclamation by the Jersey City, New Jersey's Mayor office as
an outstanding Citizen for his work and contributions to the comunnity.For more than 15 years he has captured some of the most exciting moments
NY fashion week, in Politics,US Open Tennis tournaments, and United Nations to name a few.
